the vatic vatican. you are looking live at saint peert's square. -- peters square. >> he will be the first pope in 600 years to resign. amy is live with more for us. >> it is the 28th day of february the last day of pope benedict xvi papacy. he is saying good-bye to those he worked with for so many years for decades some of them. they are in apostolic palace. it is 11:00 in the morning on another sunny day. they will have a lunch together and at 5:00 this afternoon the pope will be air lifted out of the vatican. he will be choppered to the summer residence for popes and he will spend a few months there until his permanent quarters in the vatican are fully refurbished. he will be living in a monastery with a small group of his trusted aids and nuns who have been with him through out his time here in the vatican. now yesterday of course was the last day -- the last time we got to hear a general audience from pope benedict xvi. it was outside saint peters on the square because there were so many people who wanted to be there. a lot of people are continuing to rehash the speech that
